How to Care for Your Football Shirt

Keep your jersey and crest looking new for seasons to come with these simple washing, drying and storage tips.

How to Care for Your Football Shirt

A football shirt is more than fabric — it carries the badge you support. A little care keeps the colours bright and the embroidered crest sharp for years.

Washing

Turn the shirt inside out and wash cold (30°C) on a gentle cycle with similar colours. Avoid bleach and fabric softener, which can dull performance fabric and stiffen prints. For heritage cotton tees, the same cold, gentle wash protects the ringer trim and embroidery.

Drying and ironing

Air-dry away from direct sunlight; never tumble-dry on high heat. If you must iron, use a low setting and never iron directly over the crest or any print — iron inside out instead.

Storage

Fold rather than hang heavy jerseys to keep the shoulders in shape, and store in a cool, dry place. With this routine your kit is ready for every match day.
